Gujarat Maternity Hospital CCTV Videos Leak Sparks Outrage, Probe Ordered

In a shocking breach of privacy, multiple videos of women patients being examined at a maternity hospital in Gujarat have surfaced online. The leaked CCTV footage from Rajkot’s Payal Maternity Home, showing nursing staff administering injections to female patients, has been widely shared on YouTube and Telegram, raising serious concerns about the security of women in medical institutions.

The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Police were alerted to the viral clips, prompting an immediate probe. When questioned about the leak, the hospital’s director, Dr. Amit Akbari, claimed that their CCTV server had been hacked.

“I have no idea how these videos surfaced online. It appears that our CCTV system was compromised. We are equally shocked and will fully cooperate with the police in their investigation,” Dr. Akbari stated.

Following the alarming development, the Rajkot Cyber Crime Police registered a case and began questioning hospital staff, including doctors, to determine the source of the leak. Authorities are currently analyzing the content of the videos to establish who accessed and distributed the footage and for what purpose.

“We are investigating the origin of these videos and the intent behind their circulation. A case has been registered under Sections 66E and 67 of the IT Act,” police officials confirmed.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, highlighting the urgent need for stricter cybersecurity measures in healthcare facilities to protect patient privacy.
