How a Dream Became a 100-Client Agency: The Bootstrapped Rise of Marcadors

At 18,000 ft above sea level, most people struggle to breathe.
In 2022, Aman Kumar Singh Rathore found clarity.

Standing at Khardungla Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads, Aman didn’t just take in the altitude—he launched a vision.

In what he calls “a personal challenge to test if I had what it takes to be a founder,” Aman undertook a solo ride to Khardungla, one of the toughest terrains in India, to unveil the logo and spirit of Marcadors. At that moment, he wasn’t just rejecting an international job offer; he was rejecting comfort, convention, and certainty.

“I chose the most difficult challenge available – physically and mentally – to find out if I truly had founder grit,” Aman shares.

That challenge became a commitment. And that logo, revealed at 18,000 ft, marked the beginning of Marcadors—a digital marketing agency built not on capital, but on conviction.

Three years later, the story has come full circle.

This June, Aman returned to Khardungla—not alone, but with the Marcadors team and co-founder-wife Shoileyi Bardhan—to celebrate over 3 years of growth, 100+ clients, and 0 external funding.

“I didn’t just want to build a company,” Aman shares. “I wanted to build our way of doing things. A team-first, performance-led, data-driven agency that partners with clients instead of chasing vanity metrics.”

The Rise of Marcadors

Founded in 2022, Marcadors is a branding, marketing, and growth strategy agency that has quietly built a loyal client base across fintech, real estate, SaaS, hospitality, and B2B sectors. From high-growth startups to established legacy brands, the agency is known for delivering measurable outcomes, not just flashy creatives.

What sets Marcadors apart isn’t just the services – it’s the culture.

“I wasn’t here in 2022, but I’ve been part of every challenge and every win since. Returning together is more than a celebration – it’s a reminder that with clarity, consistency, and a client-first mindset, bootstrapped businesses can thrive at scale.” says Shoileyi, Co-Founder & COO.

From campaign strategy to creative direction, Shoileyi has led the charge in turning brand mandates into business momentum.

Bootstrapped and Built to Last

In an era of hyper-funded agencies and aggressive burn rates, Marcadors has quietly broken the mold. With no investor backing, the agency has been profitable since year one, growing client by client, campaign by campaign.

Their recent visit to Ladakh was more than symbolic. It was a powerful reminder of where the journey started – and how far belief can go when matched with consistency.

“That altitude gives you perspective,” Aman says. “It reminds you that big things don’t start in boardrooms. They start with conviction.”

What’s Next

With a 100+ brand portfolio and a growing team, Marcadors is now poised for its next phase—scaling selectively, expanding its in-house capabilities, and forming long-term partnerships with ambitious Indian brands.

From the mountain top to the boardroom, Marcadors is proof that you don’t need a unicorn badge to build something remarkable—you just need the grit to start, the heart to sustain, and the mind to scale with integrity.
